    Examples

    PNG screenshot to WebP

Actual savings depend on the image; screenshots and illustrations usually shrink the most.

    Input
    screenshot.png (1920×1080, 1.8 MB) | WebP, quality 82
    Output
    screenshot.webp (1920×1080, about 180 KB, −90%)

    Which format should you choose?

WebPBest for the web: about 25–35% smaller than JPG, supports transparency and works in all modern browsers.
JPGMost compatible for photos, email and systems without WebP support; no transparency (filled with white).
PNGLossless — ideal for logos, icons and text screenshots that need transparency, but photos become large.

Quality tips: 75–85 looks identical for web photos; use 90+ for print or further editing.

    FAQ

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. Conversion happens entirely in your browser and works even offline; nothing is kept after you close the page.

Can I convert iPhone HEIC photos to JPG?

Safari on Mac and iPhone can read HEIC and convert it. Chrome and Edge currently cannot read HEIC, so open this page in Safari.

Why is my PNG bigger than the original?

PNG is lossless, so photos saved as PNG are usually much larger than JPG or WebP. Choose WebP or JPG for photos.

    Is the GPS location kept?

No. Re-encoding through Canvas strips EXIF data, including location and camera model — a quick way to protect privacy before sharing.

    Can it convert animated GIFs?

Only the first frame is converted; animation is not preserved.
